"Dressed in Red" by Sierra July, Frequent Contributor

Dressed in Red
Sierra July

Writers depict them in text and film
With skull protrusions, hotter-than-sun-burnt skin
Frequently lugging giant forks for sport
Flashing fanged teeth in a wicked grin.

Who knew the world's true little imp
Was a toddler with a temper tantrum?

Poet's Notes: This one is a humorous piece likening an irksome cranky child to a little demon since anger can feel like a form of possession. Luckily when all is right in their worlds again children regrow their angel wings and put on their cherubic smiles.
