All kids’ ears strained to hear,
Bells that brought a chorus
Reindeer hooves, trudging boots,
Milk sips, cookies crunches,
The bells on the reins began it all
And usually set off whistles when
They wound up heard
In pleasant dreams
Poet's Notes: This poem is sort of inspired by Christmas carols. I thought of the “song” children waiting on their presents would most want to hear and began to write of the sounds that Santa's jingling sled would bring. I figure with enough anticipation any pleasant sounds can become music to the ears.
