When I was in the Air Force, I was required to keep a grab-and-go mobility bag, or "mobag," ready at all times for use in case of an emergency deployment. This poem was inspired by my study of the New York School poets in my MOOC Modern and Contemporary American Poetry offered by the University of Pennsylvania. It was further inspired by my actual mobag and the events of September 11, 2001.
