Amy Lowell (1874 - 1925) was an outspoken proponent of the Imagist Movement which was founded by Ezra Pound. She believed that poetry should be "hard and clear, never blurred nor indefinite." She was posthumously awarded the Pulitzer Prize the year she died for her collection What's A Clock.
