Another "found poem" from my lyrical prose, I adapted "Old Hero" from an unpublished short story from the world of Eretz, "If I Should Die before I Wake."  The poem tells the story of the surprise and shock experienced by a young knight-in-training upon first seeing his childhood hero, Lord Kenton.  Previously, the boy had only known Kenton as a legendary hero of story and song.  He is crestfallen to see his hero as a limping old man leading a swaybacked charger.
