No Hills, No Snow - No Problem
Lauren McBride

Lacking hats, gloves,
boots, coats,
skis, poles,
snow and slopes –
must drive for miles.

Trying rental gear
on icy runs -
edges slip
not safe nor fun.
Skis off. Poles in piles.

Flinging snowballs,
first snowball fight,
snowman, snow angels
by fading light -
camera clicking smiles.

Poet’s Notes: This is a true story about my family's first ski trip.
