Review of "They Call This" by C. K. Williams

"They Call This" by C. K. Williams was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on December 11, 2013.  A link to the poem, including the poet's notes, may be found here:

C. K. Williams (b. 1936) teaches creative writing at Princeton University.  A brief biography may be found here:

It would perhaps be fair to say that "They Call This" is a short prose piece, not a poem.  The only poetic element I can discern is a strained metaphor comparing a mother on a motor scooter to the ideal "mother" for which many yearn.
