Review of "Borderline Mambo" by Rita Dove

"Borderline Mambo" by Rita Dove, who was the Poet Laureate of the United States from 1993 to 1995, was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on August 28, 2013.  A link to the poem, including the poet's notes, may be found here:  http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/23674.  Reference to this and additional biographical information about the poet may be found here:  http://www.poets.org/poet.php/prmPID/185.  The poem reads a little bit like a rhumba with a pause at the ostenotto-like repetition of "As if..."
