"Heart Strings" by Sierra July

Heart Strings
Sierra July

Melodies play when our eyes meet
Increasing tempo with a touch
Slowing with a sweet kiss

Sometimes my heart strings are caressed
Feather light with flirting fingers
Still, other times, they are plucked, yanked
Without a care, and I wonder

If they will ever break

Poet's Notes:  I enjoy revisiting romance as a theme since there are so many angles that can be explored. Sometimes I try to capture feelings of heartbreak, other times first love. I also like just to describe the emotion in an abstract sense or describe it through another art medium such as music.
